20 Watt QRP Dummy Load – 50Ω

I had the need for a low power (QRP) dummy load for some projects i was doing.

There are many designs out there on the Internet so i decided to launch KiCad and design a PCB.

To make your own version:

20 x 1KΩ 1% Metal Film Resistors (Do NOT use Carbon or Wirewound)

1 x BNC or SO239 Connector

1 x 10nF Ceramic or Tantalum Capacitor (NPO or COG – Black Tip)

1 x 1N4004 or Equivalent Diode – 1N4005 1N4006 1N4007 will also work fine
