YarcBarc – A Complete prebuilt and tested Amateur Radio Fox Hunt Transmitter

A favourite pastime for Amateur Radio Operators is to “Hunt the Fox” and is a great way of getting out of the shack and get some exercise!

What better then to track down a transmitter as a test of skill.

The Control Interface gives you the ability to:

Enter your own callsign (or maybe your clubs callsign)

Adjustable Transmit Interval Time (up to 3 Minutes)

Adjustable CW Ident.

Transmits pre-recorded Audio files (up to 2m 50s) then sends ident.

Pre-Recorded .mp3 Audio files can easily be changed or swapped out by recording your own.

All files are supplied on the SD Card (included).

(Watchdog timer inhibits TX longer than 3 Minutes as a safety feature)

Adjustable Frequency between 144MHz and 146MHz (2M FM only at this time)

All settings are stored in EEPROM and loaded at Power-On, adjust it once and forget it!

You can change ANY aspect of the settings and it will be stored immediately to EEPROM.

Self test feature is built in to check that everything works, if it fails the test it will display an error message on the screen and makes a note of it in EEPROM and then locks out the transmitter.

Countdown Timer on the Display lets you know when the next transmission is to take place.

You can press the button to over-ride the timer and send an additional Beacon. Ideal if you cannot quite get a fix at the start.

RF Power output is limited to 1 Watt (You can select low power of 500mW in the menu)

This helps to avoid too much RF Reflection which increases the difficulty!

A Low Pass Filter is also included in the built version to suppress Harmonics.

The RF Unit is CE approved.

Battery voltage monitor lets you know when things get low!
